Draft cover for a planned graphic novel re-telling the story penned by our National hero here, Dr. Jose Rizal.
I did not have much time to refine the layout but I think it did the job of making the investors nod in approval. Basically, the idea is to make the book easier to understand by the current generation of readers. --Myself included. Frankly, I never understood what the book was all about when I was in high school. For those of you who are not from this part of the globe, Noli Me Tangere is one of our high school textbooks here. Another one is El Filibusterismo, also penned by Rizal. It is only now that I've been tasked to update the graphic side of this novel that I have began to comprehend its meaning. Well, at the least SOME of it. |

On the bright side, Rizal originally wrote the novel in Spanish so I don't think it was his fault if the translation turned too "deep" Filipino.
